A true, thin, performance rope like the Sprint 8.4mm rope is a modern essential for the discerning climber who wants to make sure they have an edge in all parts of their rack. The Sprint 8.4mm is designed for the climber who perhaps has that little more experience to enable them to appreciate a lighter and more flexible rope, whilst acknowledging that more care, attention and control must be paid to it’s use. The 8.4mm was chosen for our initial range as we felt it’s diameter gave the best great balance between the ruggedness (but not weight) of a 9mm without going to the more extreme lightweight (but difficult to control) 8 or 8.1mm offerings. This is a superb rope for a variety of climbers: ‘tradders’ on long or short mountain routes, sea cliffs or outcrops; alpinists, mountaineers and Scottish winter enthusiasts. Lighter to carry, more flexible and lighter to reduce weight and drag on a long pitch, and with a flexible confidence inspiring feel, it’s the ideal stage to move on to as grades are being pushed, coerced or conquered. The double dry treatment of core and outer means it will withstand extremes well, and it also adds to the general longevity of the rope by protecting the fibres with its coating. Sizes & Colours The Sprint 8.4mm is available in two sizes, 50m and 60m, which are the generally accepted lengths for half ropes. As a rule, if in doubt we would say buy a longer rope if you are doing multi pitch climbs as you will never know when you might need it. Colour wise the Sprint comes in two easily identifiable colours, Orange and Blue, which shouldn't be mixed up easily. Also, significantly each colour is pronounced differently to the other to aid high noise situations for belayers, it should be difficult to mix up the words blue & orange however windy it may be...
