Vision Safety Features

The Vision series of harnesses continues to keep ahead of the game and to this end Wild Country Vision harnesses have a number of outstanding safety features that keep you more in control than ever.

Ziplock Buckle - Proven time and time again this super strong, smooth and slick buckle allows you perfect peace of mind because it does not need 'doubling back' to be safe. Just put the harness on and pull it tight. And for 2007 the Ziplock has been modified to be even smoother and safer and to match up better with our new models.

NEW Ziplock Leg Loop Buckle - A neat little addition, this baby Ziplock gives you the same control on the leg loops as the waist and allows for faster adjustment in winter or summer, in snow or sun....On Womens Mens and Junior.

Exclusive 25kN Belay Loop - A Wild Country exclusive all our belay loops are 3 Sigma tested to 25kN, (or 2.5 tons) to you and I, making them the strongest on the planet. A great safety feature and great for piece of mind.

Exclusive New Wear Indicator - Often the part at most risk on a harness are the leg loops especially at the point where the connect to the very robust Belay Loop. What ever material is placed ont he leg loops it always wears and sometimes - especially if you are sports climbing and 'dogging' a lot - this can be quite a rapid process.

Therefore Wild Country have introduced a simple but effective measure of this wear by placing a different coloured material under the outer protective sheath making it mightily obvious when this sheath is worn through. The appearence of this (red) material gives a simple indication that it is certainly time to look at replacing your harness.

More Vision Features

As well as the host of safety features shown above, the Visions also have the following features which complete the harnesses to make them a great all around package.

Sex Appropriate Scaling - which is a very convoluted way of saying that the Mens and Womens models are designed with different leg loop to waistbelt ratios and altered 'rises' which should make them fit their intended group better.
Essentially the womens' harness has a smaller waist to leg loop size and also has a longer 'rise' to take account of the (generally) slim waists and greater length from waist to thigh most women have.
Note: The Unisex is a great option for women who find that their shape is not right for the 'womens' model.

Batwing Belt - All Wild Country belts are curved to mimic the shape of the body and to try to put a more even load all round the body in the event of a fall or long belaying sessions. We call this the 'batwing' as in plan view it looks like that critter in flight. This shape wraps better and provides a snugger fit than standard belt shapes.

Single Clip Off Leg loops - Simply put, when nature calls the single clip off point allows you to drop your leg loops quickly and easily to answer its call. Simple strong and easy to find and especially important for those on long routes.

Four Gear Loops - Enough for sports and most trad, colour co-ordinated and simple to clip, Wild Countrys loops are placed for maximum ease of use and carry a big load - and this is why we have stuck with our threaded sleeve units instead of moving to plastic ones.
