Wild Country's harness program has always been at the forefront of the company's development because of the critical relationship the harness plays in connecting the climber with their equipment. It always seemed to make absolute sense for the people manufacturing the best rock gear to also make the harness which, after all, can play such a critical part in the presentation and application of this gear.

That's why one of our current ranges is named after the Helix DNA spiral, which carries the 'building blocks of life', because Wild Country considers the harness as the climbers' true base element: invisible until needed and unequivocally trusted, a good harness should be easy to use, reliable and provide total security!

Simplicity Security Strength

As part of our enduring program of improvement we wanted to create the most effective method of securing our harnesses and the most secure feeling for the climber as they prepare to climb.

The result of this was the development of the Ziplock, a two part stainless steel slider buckle that is easy to pull, gives an 'instant cinch' and has a lifetimes strength built in.

Permanently threaded for safety, made with stainless steel for strength and longevity it's sweet smooth locking action makes it the last word in simplicity but the first choice in buckles.

Combined with our new sheer, printed webbing, the Ziplock slides smoothly in all situations and locks with a solidity which is difficult to achieve with the average 'threadback'. This is especially noticable if putting on a loaded harness where the weight of the gear makes the threading back very tricky.

The Wild County 'Ziplock' is the smallest of its type on the market and smaller even than most of it's rivals threadbacks' and with it's emphasis on safety it is set to be the 'must have' item of 2006, on the must have harness ranges.
