Brando Pullan - Longer Days.....And Long Routes...

Longer Days

The past month has been a roller coaster ride of emotions, a result of a tragic accident that took the life of a dear friend and mentor, Carlyle. She will forever live on in everyone whose beauty, drive and soul she touched.  My heart goes out to her and the ones who knew her most, we will miss you Carlyle, at the coffee shops, crags, peaks and everything in between, thank you for being you :)

My friendship with Carlyle was based on two things, writing and climbing. So for me, I must continue doing both, the best I can.  My few moments in the mountains with Carlyle will forever be with me and now its time to create new moments, to continue to move forward and climb on.
Last week was awesome!  I got out climbing a bunch, up both ice and rock!  This past weekend was the best! On friday Darren and I got out and muckled our way up Yam, feb 3rd, in t shirts, two rock routes! Although when the sun dropped feb came back out with a nip on the fingers.  Two days latter I managed to get up Yam again, Will and I climbed another two routes. One route was The Toe. Although it is not a hard route it is one of the coolest places on Yam. A huge spire of limestone, hanging out from the main wall with a fun route up to its top, classic! We then clipped our way to the top of Yam just in time for sun set.  It seems the ground hog might not see its shadow this, the year of change.

Willy up on the Toe.. awesome spot to be
