Hamer Brothers Euro trip and first report...
11th Jul 2011
Ed and Sam Hamer are a week and a bit into their European trip...
"After months of planning, our European road trip is upon us, as of tomorrow. We are planning on staying most of July at Ceuse and then Ed is off to a competition in Bulgaria at the start of August, then he flies to Austria to compete at the World Cup at Imst. I’m then going to drive across northern Italy. Stopping off at Arco for a few days for some cragging and then onwards to Austria to pick him up and climb in the Zillertal. It’s a trip we have been planning for a while, since last summer really and it’s great to have seen it all come together. We will be away for all of July and August and maybe a bit longer, we will see. We have never been on a trip of this length before, it’s usually a week to 10 days of climbing but this amount is really going to give us loads of time to get stuck in to European sport climbing and we cant wait for it!!! We are both psyched to get on-sighting and red-pointing in equal measure. We are just so keen to be ticking off any many awesome routes as possible, hopefully a shed loads of 8’s!!! Ed’s would like to achieve finals and hopefully some podium places in his competitions."
