A quick run through of myself…I started climbing when I was 16 introduced by my teacher Ali Moles. Ali introduced me to climbing with a surprise day out, with the end result being that all other interests went out the window.

I mostly climb traditional but in the past year I have started to try and do some more bouldering and sport climbing. With my Trad I especially like doing new routes, feels good to go off on a wee mission clean something up do it and let everyone else climb it too. Being in Ireland gives me a real opportunity to pick off some class projects as the little isle has many lines still not climbed which is good if you're hunting out new stuff.

Along with my climbing I also enjoy slacklining I entered the competition up in Fort William the other year, good atmosphere a lot of fun and some class tricks passed about came third in the UK pretty good day out really.

At present I am working away doing some Rope Access in Ireland saving up for what takes my fancy next. The climbing scene in Ireland is really good at the minute loads of really nice people all zooming about playing on their next projects exploring all the time. Im very busy in my head on what to concentrate on next got some unfinished business to attend to then hope to get out climbing!

Easy Lover, E7 6c. 25m ***

Starts at the bottom of a flake line approx 5m right of Infidels. Climb the series of flakes trending rightwards until a small overlap. A long step up leads to a series of flakes were an assortment of gear can be arranged. From this point a long reach leads to the next break were a hard and technical traverse rightwards leaves you at a pocket and undercut. A hard move up and right (crux) leads to a wee bit more exposure until the bottom of another flake system is reached. A short rest bite and continue to the top with relative ease.

Quick update from Andy Marshall Wild Country and Red Chili climber:

"Made it out last weekend for some climbing been getting out a litle more lately which is class! Alll work and no play.... was able to make the 2nd ascent of a route i wanted to do last year but a wet streak at the top never seemed to dry up so figured a new sequence and avoided the wet bit. Got a few photos from my mate Craig. he's pretty top notch with the old camera so was good to know he was getting some good shots. Thanks for the shoes and t shirt as you can see from the photos they where most welcomed!

 

An Bealach Eile E8 6c - Hard technical climbing with really fiddly bad gear and not very inspiring gear either. The first half is just off a big ledge so its a no fall off route very committing all went fairly smooth. the top half moves from being on good holds to a section were they just dissappear and its small crimp crushing time with some fancy footwork it too went ok bar getting a little tired and pumped at the top nothing that a few power grunt's didnt sort out ..put up by Ricky Bell a few years ago and i followed him on it so been meaning to get back to do it myself. its good to get out tradding again been a cold winter of bouldering nice just to be out on the crag."
